Chihuly at Fairchild Botanical Gardens, Miami Florida
Chihuly art glass scattered throughout one of the best botanical gardens in America under the December moonlight was a great way to enjoy one of the lazy nights in the week between Christmas and New Years. Fairchild Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables Florida is normally a "day" place but is open every Thursday night from 6 to 9 during the stay of this lovely exhibit for night viewing. Dramatic lighting, musicians scattered around the grounds and the December moonlight coupled with a 65 degree breeze made for a memorable night.

They called this the "Pinata". It was illuminated from the outside (unlike many of the exhibits which are actually neon glass)and hanging from a tall tree. Like many of the sculptures it was viewable from well across the garden. I thought it would make a pretty good Star of Bethlehem.
