That's Chris Calovini's 2000 996. So many mods I'll let him tell you in his words what's been done: 2000 996 custom built in 2003-2004. Custom painted by owner as a tribute to the F1 paint scheme before the tri-colore paint offerings on the 1098. 126 rear wheel HP blue-printed motor built by Jason Seagle and Jason Etter at Section 8 Superbike. Pistal 13.5/1 high compression pistons. Ported and polished heads. Dymag Carbon Magnesium wheels custom finished in PVD Chrome that is the same weight as powder coating. The only set of these wheels produced in this finish. Cycle cat RIPS bar system, Cycle Cat RIPS rearsets, Cycle Cat triple clamp, Cycle Cat clutch cover, Speedy Moto pressure plate, Cycle Cat pressure plate, Cycle Cat 1"over side stand, Barnet lightweight clutch. Inttegrated turn signals. Corbin seats on Mono and bi-posto seats. Bitubo 4 way rear shock. Custom fork valving by Carr Moto/Ducati Indy. Custom painted motor, headlight bucket, swing arm, mirrors, air runners, brake caliperss, master cylinders, sprocket carrier and many more small parts. Alth brake rotors. Bucci breather valve. Billet gas cap. Chromed frame with special attention paid to avoid embrittlement. The front fender is autographed by Frank Scurria, Doug Polen, Loris Capirossi, Eric Bostrom, Carlos Checa, Livio Suppo and Federico Minoli. This bike won the Bellisimo Award at the DOCC ralley at Gratten in 2004, Best of Show Hyperbike at Ducati Day Dayona in 2005, 1st Place Modern at La Ducati Day in La Honda, CA in 2005, 1st Place at The Italian Gathering in Columbus Ohio and Peoples Choice at the Mid Ohio Superbike Concorso in 2007. The bike does see track and street duty and is a work in progress.
