Laguna Seca AMA weekend. The culmination of 5 rounds of heavyweight Ducati Superbike prize fights, the finalists of the richly contested Ducati Superbike Concorso have now come to town. 10 finalists representing superbike models from the original Ducati Superbike, the 750 Sport, to the latest contender, the 1098 lined up for a winner takes all final round. Join me for a visit to Ducati Island, a history lesson as well as a visual feast since these machines, brought by their owners from all over the USA literally represent the full spectrum of Ducati Superbike history over the years. One lucky owner goes home with a new Ducati 1098, and two runner up's with Ducatisti "trips of a lifetime" to the Ducati factory and the Milan Motorcycle show. Let the contest begin...

At the end of the day we headed back out on the track for a photo shoot in the corkscrew. That's Mike Cecchini waxing poetic about the racetrack. He missed the morning session so this was his first lap on the track.

And a couple of this one as well, and then they headed back in, in a, umm, more or less, direct manner. :-)
Except for Peter Calles, who got some help from the campers on the hill who had a gas can ready. Eventually it all got worked out and we all headed to a group dinner in downtown Monterey.
Sunday am. Decisions must be made.
The "sound off". It's the last chance to get the judges to see it your way.
That's John Bragg. Nobody tried harder then John to be here this weekend. With the newest bike comes the tighest schedule, parts hunting is difficult and almost every thing is "first on the block". Add to that custom paint, no stickers involved and a off road excursion that resulted in a banged up bike and a considerably more banged up John. This is the portrait of a determined man (and a very fast healer!)
