Round Three of the Ducati Superbike Concorso was the toughest one so far, at least the judges thought so. Because of the high concentration of truly great "vintage" Ducatis in this area of the country round three was the shootout of the "Originals". Add to that the stunning modified entry's and it was the perfect recipe for some really hard decisions. Join me for a tour....

Tom Buoniello and his 2002 998S Bostrom complete with Blue Flame exhaust. This bike won best modified (you could have knocked Tom over with a feather when they announced it, he kept saying I can't believe I won" :-)
Sunday dawned and the weather report was the talk of the day. As Ralph Shaheen put it "The Superbike Concorso might be the only compitition that takes place at Mid Ohio today" (They don't race at MO in the rain)
The finals were held in the Ducati hospitality tent with Speedvision's Ralph Shaheen and Larry Pegram presenting
That's Chris Calovini, President of the Desmohio DOC getting an award for "Peoples Choice" for his 2000 996.
That's a surprised (and pleased) Robert Lawrence who was waiting to take the photo of the winner until it turned out to be him!
Lou Saif and Larry Pegram. Lou's a pretty big guy! OK, Larry is ducking down but honestly, isn't this the FUNNIEST photo? No wonder he's fast, he's three feet tall! :-)
