Round Three of the Ducati Superbike Concorso was the toughest one so far, at least the judges thought so. Because of the high concentration of truly great "vintage" Ducatis in this area of the country round three was the shootout of the "Originals". Add to that the stunning modified entry's and it was the perfect recipe for some really hard decisions. Join me for a tour....

That's Alan Wilzig's 750 Sport, one of three perfect examples that entered this round. This one was invited to the Ducati VMD museum "Passion In Motion - Zero to 999" in 2005. It's a VERY nice bike
Attention to details was the key to the compitition. As you can see, it was everywhere.
So, the judges decided whoever paid them the most would win. Here Peter Calles coughs up a big bill. (OK, just kidding. I made them pose for this!) But seriously, it was the closest round yet, which if you saw how hard it was at Laguna will give you an idea how serious people are taking this compitition.
That's Peter Calles from Maryland. Peter loves his bikes and brought 4 to Mid Ohio. He's world famous for it actually - he had a German magazine with him with photos of his home which has motorcycles displayed everywhere in it including the kitchen.
Peter also brought this 1977 900SS which he has owned since new. This bike won Best Original
