The first thing you have to get used to (OK, this part is easy) is that everywhere you look, and everywhere you listen it's nothing but Ducati's. Every stop light, gas station, and cafe has them scattered any way you turn. Welcome to World Ducati Week 2007 where the passion is Red and the Rev's are high!

It's been three years since the Ducati clan has gathered in Misano, the racetrack by the sea. Anticipation is high.
Along with WDW is a World Ducati Club Presidents meeting. This group of DOC presidents is from the USA. The Presidents spent the week before WDW touring Italy from Bologna to Rome and back, and that was just a warm up for the REAL party!
That's the DOC club tent - at 8:30 am on Thursday. For the rest of the weekend it was a bustle of non-stop activity, music and friendly faces.
We (the club presidents) were staying up in the hills of Gabbice Mare, about 15 minutes of lush green curvey roads from the track. No internet or cell phones because of the remote location, nothing left to focus on but quality time with like minded people.
Every once and a while you would get a view like this on the drive in but it was always the view from the hotel.
Gates opened at 9am on Thursday - there was already a line when I arrived at 8:30am
Included in the admission was a gift bag with an event t-shirt and some other goodies
If you still haven't figured out that this truly was Ducati heaven, here's absolute proof! (10 euros is about 14 dollars, not bad for a factory tech's attention, huh?)
That's Gabrielle Del Torchio, the Managing Director of Ducati, speaking to the club presidents. WDW was his first major exposure to Ducatisti as a group and I think he came away really impressed with the depth of the commitment Ducati owners have to their machines. (Or maybe scared! We are a lively bunch, lol)
