Want to hear it run? Part of the contest involves listening to the music of the machine. Check out Pierre Terblanche's response - this thing is LOUD.
Gary Patton and his racing F1
That's Mike Lancaster. He's the "guru" of the Ducati Owners Group of Sin City. Mike is known nationwide for his mechanical skills and attention to detail - If this bike looks familier it might be because he took home top honors at DRA back in 2001 with this frame up custom. (I made him pose like this under serious protest, sorry, I couldn't resist!)
From the info card displayed with the bike:
Completed in 2000, this ground up custom Ducati that started off as a bare 1997 916 frame. It is intended to look like a Superbike/Monster sort of Café Racer. Only the very best of parts were used throughout the build: Marchisini wheels, Brembo C/F rotors, Ohlins suspension and steering dampner. Fuel tank is hand fabricated, bodywork and fenders arecarbon. Hand painted flying D paint work done by The Hired Gun. Engine is a 1999 996, SPS cams, titanium rods and valves, high compression pistons, light weigt flywheel, custom clutch and 54mm Arrow exhaust. Awarded Best Superbike – Ducati Revs America 2001, featured in numerous shows and magazines
This sort of Ducati is hard to photograph, there's so many things to look at and the camera prefers to focus in a limited area.
