Ducati > The Ducati Cruiser scooter. Produced from 1951 - 1954, the Cruiser was a fresh design from from the outside design house Ghia and no expense was spared. Among it's amazing for the time attributes it was the first 4 stroke scooter (175cc's designed by Giovanni Fiorio), first 12 volt scooter, first standard equipment electric starter scooter.
Unfortunately it was heavy, mechanically complicated and ultimately unreliable due to it's innovation (the transmission in particular) and sales were weak. Although roughly 2000 Cruisers were produced, few examples survive and even fewer actually run.....
