Milan, Florence, Bologna, Rome Italy November 2006 : Each year Ducati.net travels to Italy in the off season. Italy in November is very different than in the summer high season - different weather is just the beginning, the unique foods in season , the Christmas displays, the winter fashions, and the smaller crowds all add up to a vacation quite unlike what you get in summer. So, after the EICMA motorcycle show we took some time to enjoy Italy in winter. This years trip was a group of 15, started in Milan, moved to Florence and ended in Rome. For me, one of best things is the completely different light, the photos look nothing like summer which is what most people think of when they think of Italy. Photos and captions by Vicki Smith

Chihuly at Fairchild Botanical Gardens, Miami Florida : Chihuly art glass scattered throughout one of the best botanical gardens in America under the December moonlight was a great way to enjoy one of the lazy nights in the week between Christmas and New Years. Fairchild Botanical Gardens in Coral Gables Florida is normally a "day" place but is open every Thursday night from 6 to 9 during the stay of this lovely exhibit for night viewing. Dramatic lighting, musicians scattered around the grounds and the December moonlight coupled with a 65 degree breeze made for a memorable night.

Key West December 2005 : "Lets ride to the Keys tommorow!" Completely unplanned, inspired by fantastic weather, incredible machines and great company with predictable results. First trip I've ever taken on the back of a bike, I was surprised how nice it was to be able to relax and take in the view.
