Steve Golladay came with Rick from Las Vegas. Here's what he has to say about his 2002 998:
An incredibly powerful 999R engine serves as the heart of my custom 998 build and is truly something special! Just some of the engine upgrades include CP high compression pistons, Pankl titanium rods, racing crank, Corse close ratio gearbox, magnesium clutch and valve covers, and Akrapovic 57mm ceramic coated exhaust system. The chassis components have been modified with two major goals: weight reduction and improved handling. The major chassis changes include BST Carbon Fiber wheels, Ohlins R&T forks with Superbike internals, Ohlins rear shock with top-out spring, Brembo GP clutch and brake master cylinders, Brembo radial calipers, fully floating rear rotor, custom billet rear brake caliper, and 27mm offset upper and lower triple clamps. The carbon fiber bodywork was chosen specifically for its aggressive and unique features. Some of the other carbon fiber pieces include airbox, air runners, mirror supports, headlight bucket, and timing belt covers. Many parts have been custom anodized to match the overall color scheme. The fork tubes and rearsets for example contribute to the aggressive visual statement. Combining a 999R with a 998 provided a fantastic challenge to overcome. Just seeing the 999 series instrument cluster mounted atop the 998 dash area is a striking visual statement. You cannot help but be drawn in for a closer look at how the pieces come together in such an artful way. It has been an honor building this bike incorporating the best in Italian design and aftermarket performance parts. My passion for Ducati during this project has given me an extremely high appreciation for the history and lineage of the company.
